At a glance
Core trip planning works without registering an account managed by us.
The current App contains no ads or third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.
Trip content stays on your devices unless you choose an Apple service or external sharing action described below.
Scope and how we handle information
Simple Trip (the “App”) is developed and operated by Shenzhen Jianjiezhiyuan Technology Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect your privacy. This Policy applies when you use Simple Trip on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or another supported Apple device, and when you visit the official Simple Trip product website that links to this Policy.
Simple Trip does not require you to register or create an account managed by us. The current version does not send the trip content you create in the App to servers operated by the developer. This Policy does not govern Apple services, third-party websites, or external apps that you choose to open through Simple Trip; those services handle information under their own policies.
- The App does not contain third-party advertising.
- The App does not track you across apps or websites.
- The App does not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use trip content for advertising, marketing, or user profiling.
- We do not analyze your trips, location, or spending data for advertising, marketing, or developer-side user profiling. The App may calculate on-device budget, spending, distance, and travel-category summaries to provide features you choose to use.
Apple may process information required to provide features that you choose to use, including iCloud, Maps, Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, Apple Watch, system sharing, and diagnostics enabled through your Apple settings. Simple Trip does not use a third-party analytics SDK to collect diagnostics.
Data stored on your device
Content that you create, enter, or choose to add is stored locally on your device by default. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Trip names, destinations, start dates, end dates, tags, status, and pinned state.
- Daily itineraries, day notes, place names, addresses, coordinates, categories, opening hours, ticket information, websites, telephone numbers, and place notes.
- Visited, skipped, and manual ordering status for places.
- Budgets, currencies, planned and actual costs, expense titles, categories, dates, amounts, and notes.
- Trip covers and trip photos that you choose to add.
- Your display name, biography, home base, avatar, and background image.
- App language, theme, privacy display choices, widget configuration, iCloud and Spotlight preferences, and other settings.
This information supports itinerary management, maps, distance ordering, on-device budget and travel-category summaries, the photo gallery, exports, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, optional Spotlight indexing, and Apple Watch features. The local SwiftData store may use an Apple App Group container and may contain the data listed above, including processed images. Simple Trip also creates limited itinerary summaries for widgets and Apple Watch. App Group storage lets the main App and its extensions work together on your device; it does not send data to developer-operated servers.
Optional iCloud storage and CloudKit
iCloud storage is disabled by default. Simple Trip can use CloudKit only when the released build has the required capability, private CloudKit container, signing configuration, and runtime availability, and after you actively enable the option and confirm any required local-data migration. Enabling or disabling the storage mode generally takes effect after the App is restarted.
Once enabled, trips, dates, places, notes, budgets, expenses, photos, profile information, and related App data may be stored in an Apple CloudKit private database associated with your iCloud account to support synchronization across your Apple devices. Apple processes this information according to your Apple ID, iCloud settings, device configuration, service terms, and privacy policies. We do not use CloudKit content for advertising, marketing, or behavioral analytics.
CloudKit synchronization depends on network access, Apple service availability, operating system versions, iCloud sign-in, and device configuration. Simple Trip does not promise that synchronization will always be immediate or real time.
Turning off iCloud storage stops subsequent use of that storage mode after the change takes effect, but does not necessarily delete data already synchronized to iCloud. To remove synchronized content, delete it on a device where the relevant CloudKit storage mode remains enabled and allow time for deletion to propagate. Where available, you may also use Apple’s iCloud storage controls. Apple’s service rules govern synchronization, backups, and ultimate retention in iCloud.
Read Apple’s Privacy PolicyLocation and maps
When you actively use current location, distance ordering, next-stop distance, walking-time estimates, or Apple Watch arrival alerts, Simple Trip may request the relevant system location permission. On mobile devices this is a while-using permission.
Simple Trip keeps only the current location needed for the active feature and does not create or retain a real-time location history for the developer. Your real-time location is not sent to us. Apple Watch arrival detection works while the Watch App is active and authorized; it does not operate as continuous background location tracking.
Map search, place information, map content, and route estimates are provided by Apple MapKit or Apple Maps. Search text, the displayed map region, an origin, a destination, or related coordinates may be sent to Apple to perform a request that you initiate. Simple Trip does not provide turn-by-turn navigation inside the App; Apple Maps handles routes and directions after you choose to navigate.
You can change or withdraw location permission in Privacy & Security → Location Services in system settings. Refusing location access does not prevent manual place entry, trip editing, or viewing existing itineraries.
- Show your current position on a map.
- Order itinerary places by distance.
- Calculate distance and estimate walking time to the next stop.
- Determine, while the Apple Watch App is active, whether you are near the next stop.
Photos
Simple Trip uses Apple’s system photo picker so that you can choose a trip cover, gallery photos, an avatar, or a background image. The App does not browse or import photos you have not selected.
Selected images are processed into App-ready copies. Current image processing resizes and re-encodes those copies and does not preserve the source image’s EXIF, GPS, or IPTC metadata. The processed copies become part of your Simple Trip data and follow the local or optional CloudKit storage mode you select.
Copies that you export, save, or share outside Simple Trip are controlled by the destination you choose. Deleting an image from the App does not automatically remove a copy already saved or shared elsewhere.
Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, and Apple Watch
When you use related actions inside Simple Trip—such as opening an itinerary, starting navigation, or marking a place as visited—or invoke an action through Siri or Shortcuts, the App may provide trip names, place names, itinerary status, and limited action context to Apple’s Siri, App Intents, and Shortcuts systems so those system features can recognize or perform the action. Simple Trip does not send this content to developer-operated servers.
Spotlight indexing for trips and places is disabled by default. If you enable it, Simple Trip submits trip names, place names, and limited related information to Apple’s on-device system index. Indexed information may appear in Spotlight, Siri suggestions, or other system search surfaces. When you disable the setting, Simple Trip requests removal of the entries it created; the system may require time to complete that removal.
The main App, widgets, and Apple Watch may exchange limited itinerary summaries, next-stop details, visit status, progress, or related settings through Apple App Groups, WatchConnectivity, or—when you enable it—CloudKit. This information is used to display and update the itinerary on your devices and Simple Trip companion components.
Widgets and Watch widgets may display trip information on a Home Screen, Lock Screen, or watch face. Relevant widgets can offer a privacy mode that hides place names, addresses, exact coordinates, or budget details. Lock Screen widget privacy mode is enabled by default, but you should still select visible content with your device environment in mind.
Notifications
If you grant permission, the current notification features use Apple’s on-device notification framework on Apple Watch to schedule itinerary-related local alerts, including an arrival alert detected while the Watch App is active and a closing-soon reminder based on saved opening hours.
These reminders are scheduled and displayed on the device. We do not use notification permission or developer-operated servers to send advertising or marketing messages. You can disable notifications in system settings at any time; doing so does not delete your trip data.
Website, cookies, and hosting logs
The official Simple Trip product website is a read-only informational site. It does not read, upload, or display trip data stored in the App and does not provide developer-account sign-in or App-data synchronization.
The website uses a strictly necessary preference cookie named simpletrip_locale to remember whether you selected English or Simplified Chinese. It stores only a language code, remains valid for up to one year, is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, uses Secure when delivered over HTTPS, and is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral analytics. You can remove or restrict it in your browser settings; the site may then choose a language again from your browser preferences.
To deliver and protect the website and diagnose technical problems, hosting and network providers may process limited technical logs such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser or device type, User-Agent, response status, and security diagnostics. We do not use those logs for advertising profiles or to track activity across other websites. Retention is governed by the provider’s service rules, security needs, actual configuration, and applicable requirements.
Information you provide when contacting us
If you email Simple Trip, we may receive your email address, name or preferred form of address, message, and any screenshots, diagnostic details, files, device information, operating system version, App version, or reproduction steps you choose to provide. We use this information only to respond, provide support, investigate faults, maintain security, or handle legal and compliance matters relating to the App.
Please do not send unnecessary complete itineraries, precise real-time locations, detailed budgets, private photographs, identity documents, payment information, or other sensitive content. Redact unrelated information from screenshots. Email providers may process the information needed to transmit and store your messages under their own terms.
We retain support communications only as long as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records, or meet applicable requirements. Because Simple Trip has no developer account system, we generally cannot use an email address or username to locate App data stored on your device or in your private iCloud database.
External links, navigation, and exports
When you open a trip link or telephone number, start navigation, or export an itinerary as PNG, PDF, or Markdown, Simple Trip may provide the relevant content to the system’s default handler, Safari, Apple Maps, the share sheet, a file location, or another app you select.
After you leave Simple Trip, the destination handles information under its own terms and privacy policy. Exported files exist independently from data in the App. Deleting a trip, photo, or other item in Simple Trip does not delete copies already stored in Files, Photos, a cloud drive, or another app.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local data remains on your device and in local or App Group storage used by Simple Trip until you delete the relevant content in the App or remove the App and its associated local data through the system. Device or iCloud backups may contain copies according to your Apple backup settings.
When CloudKit is enabled, deletions performed in the App may propagate to devices signed in to the same iCloud account and using the corresponding storage mode. Network access, device state, and Apple service availability may delay propagation. Turning off CloudKit alone does not guarantee deletion of previously synchronized records.
Derived summaries in widgets, Apple Watch, or Spotlight may take time to refresh or clear. Apple controls copies held in iCloud, system indexes, and backups under its service rules.
- Delete trips, places, photos, expenses, or budgets where the App provides the corresponding control; edit your display name, clear your biography or home base, and remove your avatar or background image.
- Disable and clear the Spotlight index created by Simple Trip in App settings.
- Remove widgets or use widget privacy mode to reduce visible detail.
- Withdraw location and notification permissions in system settings.
- Delete exported copies separately from the place where you saved or shared them.
- Contact us about personal information that we directly hold, such as a support email. We may need to verify a request as permitted by applicable law.
Information security
Simple Trip is designed around data minimization and device-side processing. Local data, App Group information, and optional CloudKit data are also protected by your device passcode, biometric settings, Apple ID security, iCloud configuration, and Apple platform safeguards.
No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device and Apple ID and take care when displaying or sharing travel, location, budget, or photo information through shared devices, Lock Screen widgets, exported files, public links, or support email.
Children’s privacy
Simple Trip is not directed primarily to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer account, advertising, or analytics system. The App does not require age or date of birth.
Because a user can enter text or select photos, parents or guardians should supervise a child’s device, iCloud, location, photo, widget, and sharing settings as appropriate. If you believe a child has provided inappropriate personal information through a support email, contact us so that we can review and address it.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If Simple Trip’s data practices change materially—for example, through remote AI services, a developer-operated backend, an account system, third-party analytics, or another networked service—we will review and update this Policy and the applicable App Store privacy information before the feature is made available.
The updated Policy will be published on this page and the Last Updated date will be revised. Features requiring additional permission or choice will provide an appropriate explanation or system permission request.
